Ok, so you are ready to begin your aviation adventure, follow your dream and earn your Sport Pilot's certificate. But how exactly do you go about doing that? First, you need to make sure you have a few things before you can get started;

  • Be a minimum of 17 years of age, or 14 years for glider
  • Able to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Hold a valid US State driver's license or hold a current 1st, 2nd or 3rd class Airman Medical Certificate
  • Not have been rejected for your last Airman Medical Certificate or have had it revoked*

* Glider students may be exempt from this requirement.

Great! You have all those things so you are ready to go! Now what?

The rest is very simple. Pick the training package that interests you and give us a call!

Once you start working with us, we will take you step by step through the entire process. From getting your student pilot's certificate all the way up until you are ready for your practical exam (often referred to as the check-ride), Captain Drake's FAA will be there with you!

Since we are a part 61 school (FAA legal babble), we can tailor our instruction to your personal goals and needs. We will train you in a manner that works for you! Not force you to adhere to some industrial-style training program. Our priorities are to make your training fun and enjoyable while providing the safest environment possible for you to learn in.
